HISTORY OF THE CHURCH BUILDING
The Church was constructed in 1863 to the design of the well known church architect, Arthur W. Blomfield. It is a Grade 2* listed building and was restored in 1963 as a result of fire damage, funding for which was obtained in part from English Heritage Lottery money.
It's design has several distinctive features not the least of which is the extensive decoration of the chancel and sanctuary along with the short iron columns which in part support the keeled wagon roof of the nave.
